Ross County, OH — Authorities are investigating a trespassing complaint that occurred on October 7, 2024, on Eastern Avenue.

The incident began when a resident reported seeing an individual on the railroad tracks constructing a cross out of railroad ties. When confronted, the individual allegedly made threats against the resident, prompting the call to law enforcement.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant, who described seeing two individuals—a man and a woman—leave the area shortly before his arrival. A third individual, described as a slender male wearing a brown shirt and blue jeans, remained at the scene. This individual reportedly expressed intentions to set the constructed cross on fire and issued threats, stating he would “bleed tonight” and “kill” the resident.

The complainant indicated he displayed pepper spray in self-defense, which led the individual to leave the area heading toward the city along the railroad tracks.

After gathering information, deputies searched nearby areas, including Mary Lou Park, but did not locate the individual matching the description. A follow-up at the original scene later that evening revealed no further activity.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
