Chillicothe – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality on US 23 at State Route 207.
On June 7, 2024, at approximately 1355 hours, a 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Alexander Pollard, age 22 of West Union, Ohio and his passenger Nicholas Fisher, age 23 of Peebles, Ohio was traveling south on US 23. Their vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, through the median, and traveled into the north bound lanes of US 23. The vehicle began to overturn ejecting Alexander Pollard. It continued off the left side of the roadway where it came to rest under the State Route 207 overpass. Mr. Pollard succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash. Mr. Fisher was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center by Union Township Emergency Medical Services for serious injuries. US 23 was shut down for approximately 3 hours.
Green Township Fire and EMS as well as Union Township EMS were on scene.
Ross County Sheriffs Office assisted with traffic control.
ODOT was on scene for traffic control.
The crash remains under investigation.
