The Scioto Society, Inc., producers of the outdoor drama Tecumseh!, is currently seeking child actors for its 2025 season. The production is looking for children ages 10-14 to play the role of Little Blue Jacket, a Shawnee child who appears in several scenes during the first act of the show.
The role will be double-cast, meaning the actor will only perform half of the week, giving them the opportunity to return home at intermission. The selected actor must be available for rehearsals on June 7, 9, 10, and 11, as well as for a preview night on June 12 and opening night on June 13. Performances of Tecumseh! will take place five nights a week (Tuesday through Saturday) from June 13 through August 31.
Interested parties are asked to submit a photograph of the child along with an acting resume (if available) or the following details: name, age, height, and any scheduling conflicts between June 1 and September 1. All submissions must be sent to [email protected] by April 4, 2025.
Qualified candidates will be invited to attend in-person auditions on April 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM. Please note that a parent or guardian will need to accompany the child during rehearsals and performances, with a nightly call time of 6:30 PM.
A small stipend of $500 will be provided for the role.
To apply, send the requested information to [email protected] by April 4. Late submissions will not be considered.
Tickets for the 2025 season of Tecumseh! are now available for purchase at www.tecumsehdrama.com. The show will run Tuesday through Saturday evenings from June 12 through August 31 at the Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheatre in Chillicothe.
