Chillicothe, OH – On September 2, 2024, a routine traffic stop on a Silver Honda Civic led to the arrest of a woman on an outstanding warrant and the discovery of drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics.
At approximately 4:09 AM, Officer Chance Blankenship, while patrolling East 7th Street, observed a Silver Honda Civic fail to signal a left turn at the intersection of East 7th and South Hickory Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of South Bridge and East 8th Street.
Upon stopping the vehicle, Officer Blankenship approached from the passenger side and identified the passenger as Nicole Manuel, who was known to have an active arrest warrant. The driver, Alvin Littleton, was identified based on prior incidents.
During the stop, Manuel was asked to exit the vehicle and consented to a search, which yielded no contraband. However, Manuel admitted that there was drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Officer Blankenship then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a book bag belonging to Manuel. Inside the bag, officers found a homemade bong, a hypodermic needle, bottle caps with residue, straws, a burnt glass pipe, and a clear baggie containing a white powdery substance, which was suspected to be cocaine.
A search of Littleton’s person revealed a clear baggie with a white rocky substance and a gray baggie with a white powdery substance, both suspected to be crack cocaine.
Both Manuel and Littleton were advised of their Miranda Rights and denied any knowledge of the narcotics. Littleton was issued a verbal warning for the turn signal violation and released. Manuel was transported to the Ross County Jail, where she was booked for her outstanding warrant related to a probation violation for a previous drug paraphernalia charge.
Photographs of the seized evidence were taken, and all items were secured in the Chillicothe Police Department evidence lockers. Further charges may be filed pending lab results.
