COLUMBUS, OH – The 2025 Ohio 4-H Conference, held on March 8 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, celebrated the dedication and contributions of 4-H volunteers across the state. Among this year’s honorees was Amy Smythe, a 13-year volunteer with Ross County 4-H – OSU Extension, who was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for her outstanding service and commitment to local youth development.

Smythe was one of three recipients of this prestigious award, joining:
🍀 Michelle May, a 38-year volunteer with Geauga County 4-H
🍀 Greg and Carolyn Piguet, 38-year volunteers with Ohio State – Scioto County 4-H

The Meritorious Service Award, sponsored by the Paul Hall & Associates Foundation, recognizes 4-H volunteers who have significantly impacted their local clubs and communities. Honorees must have at least 10 years of volunteer service and demonstrate active involvement at the county or club level, shaping the next generation of 4-H youth through mentorship, leadership, and dedication.
