London, OH – The Ohio Department of Transportation has closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 71 beyond State Route 56 near London and Mount Sterling due to a semi-truck fire.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 AM on June 24, 2024, when a fire broke out in the cab of a semi-truck and quickly spread to the vehicle’s trailer. Ohio State Patrol (OSP) responded promptly and decided to close the roadway to ensure the safety of motorists and facilitate emergency response efforts.
As of 10:57 AM, OSP and fire crews are on the scene working to extinguish the blaze and clear the area. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the affected section of I-71 North.
