PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH — In a significant move to support student well-being and academic readiness, several Pickaway County school districts are offering free meals to students for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Teays Valley Local School District has been approved to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students throughout the upcoming school year. This initiative is made possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a program funded by the State and based on the number of students in the district who qualify for free or reduced meals. CEP allows schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer meals at no cost to all students.

“We are thrilled that this program will ensure every student has access to a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day,” said Food Services Director Adrianne Dean. “Access to healthy meals is essential for students to be ready to learn and succeed in the classroom.”

Despite the free meals, parents and guardians are still encouraged to complete the meal waiver form on FinalForms if they believe their student qualifies for a waiver of other school fees. The form can be accessed by logging into FinalForms at Teays Valley FinalForms.

In addition to Teays Valley, the Circleville City School District is also providing free breakfast and lunch for all students in grades PK-12. The district has introduced EZ Pay, an online service that allows parents and guardians to add funds to their students’ lunch accounts. Students in grades 6-12 have the option to purchase a la carte items in addition to the free lunch, provided they have funds in their accounts. Each student will receive a short account number to use at the point of sale.

Westfall School District is also emphasizing the importance of completing the Free/Reduced Meal Application. Families are encouraged to fill out the application by visiting the Free & Reduced Meal Application link available under “Helpful Resources.”
