Tennessee – A sheriff’s department in Tennessee has a new plan for controlling speed.
We all know that when we are driving on the freeways and see a law enforcement vehicle we check speed and slow down if needed. This is the plan of one Sheriff department and they are warning the public that not all will be, “unmanned”
On a social media post, the sheriff department said, “Drivers instinctively slow down and check their speed when they see a marked patrol car. It is impossible for our Deputies to be everywhere. In an effort to increase a driver’s voluntary compliance, we are placing unmanned patrol cars along some highways.”
The department did heed some warnings to keep drivers in check, “At times, the unmanned patrol car will be replaced with a Deputy Sheriff, assigned to make enforcement stops. We encourage everyone to exercise due care and comply with the rules of the road.”
