Shooting Incident in Scioto County Results in One Fatality and an Arrest

McDERMOTT, OH – Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that his 911 communication center received a call around 9:33 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, from a neighbor reporting a shooting next door. Shortly after, a second 911 call came in from a woman claiming she had shot her boyfriend.

Deputies, detectives, and emergency medical personnel promptly responded to the scene at 402 Euton Road, McDermott, Ohio. Upon arrival, they found a male victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 67-year-old Robert Dean Lewis of 2848 Thompson Hill Road, Otway, Ohio, was airlifted to Saint Mary’s Hospital in West Virginia, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Holly Euton-McGhee, age 60, of 402 Euton Road, McDermott, Ohio, has been arrested in connection with the shooting. She is charged with Aggravated Murder, a first-degree felony; Felonious Assault, a first-degree felony; and Obstructing Official Business, a second-degree misdemeanor. Euton-McGhee is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court this morning, Monday, July 1, 2024.

Sheriff Thoroughman stated that the investigation is ongoing and could result in additional charges.
