Waverly, Ohio (January 27, 2025) — The Do Not Use order for all water customers in Waverly remains in effect as the community grapples with a major water leak. The Waverly Village Council has declared a State of Emergency, and residents are advised not to use water for any purpose until further notice.

The Waverly Water & Sewer Department is actively working to isolate and repair the leak, but the water system is currently experiencing little to no pressure. As crews work on the repairs, they need to conserve any available water to speed up the process. The Do Not Use order applies to all households, businesses, and properties, except for critical users like hospitals, nursing homes, and dialysis centers.

To help residents during this emergency, bottled water will be available at the Pike County YMCA, located at 400 Pride Drive in Waverly, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, or while supplies last. There is a limit of one gallon per person per day.

Residents who are homebound or unable to pick up water themselves should call the Pike County General Health District at 740-947-7721 for delivery assistance.

For ongoing updates and to stay informed about the water situation, residents are encouraged to sign up for Waverly’s One Call Now system at this link.

The village continues to work closely with local agencies, including the Waverly Fire Department and Rural King, to provide bottled water and support to those affected by the water emergency. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as crews work to resolve the issue.
