CHILLICOTHE, OH – Authorities recovered a stolen vehicle in Chillicothe, Ohio, following an alert received on March 16, 2025. The vehicle, a 2013 brown Ford F-150 with Texas registration, was flagged as stolen by law enforcement in Killeen, Texas.
Alerts from an automated license plate recognition system initially detected the vehicle in multiple locations along North Bridge Street. On March 17, an officer on patrol located the unoccupied truck parked behind a residence on Sycamore Street. A tow truck was requested to transport the vehicle for further investigation.
During the process, a local resident at the location stated that he had been in possession of the vehicle since January 2025. He claimed the truck belonged to his employer, a company that maintains foreclosed properties, and that his employer was aware of both his possession and the vehicle’s location. The individual also mentioned that he was owed payment for completed work. He voluntarily provided the vehicle’s key to authorities.
The Ford F-150 was towed to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office Impound Lot, where it was secured for further processing. Law enforcement confirmed the vehicle’s stolen status with Killeen police and notified the registered owner that it had been recovered and stored.
The investigation into this case remains ongoing.
