Matt Keeney and his developing "Keeney's Kitchen" outlet in Chillicothe.

Chillicothe — An empty storefront at the corner of Mulberry and Second streets is gradually being filled with super-fast super-healthy food. Matt Keeney got his simple sign approved at the Design Review Board on Thursday, and I asked him to introduce his business.

He said “Keeney’s Kitchen” offers pre-cooked meals that you can grab and warm up in two minutes in a microwave or four minutes in an air fryer there, or take home. Keeney says his salads, parfaits, steaks, wraps, and more take cooking, shopping, and cleanup “out of the equation.” They are “perishable and cooked weekly.”

He says in his main operation in Lucasville is a 2,000 square-foot kitchen that serves southern Ohio from Columbus…to Ashland, Kentucky and Huntington, West Virginia…to Batavia near Cincinnati. But he says he also shops and eats in Chillicothe and is blessed to give back by opening an outlet here.

Keeney says his is a “health and wellness company to reduce stress, facilitate wellness, and ultimately defeat diabetes and medications.” His outlet in Columbus offers a wide menu of “portion controlled, ready-to-eat, high quality & healthy meals” with free local pickup or home delivery.

A look in the new Chillicothe location, from his Facebook page.

His Chillicothe location already offers limited pickup options, but he says he hopes to get approval to be fully open seven days a week on March 3rd or the weekend of the 8th.

The shop at 67 North Mulberry Street takes the place of Hometown Threads in the relatively new “Fort Collective” beside Rōst Coffee.

Keeney says “we’re super active on social media” with Facebook and Instagram accounts, and a website. He offers high-energy food, exercise, and lifestyle coaching on his Facebook page. He also has a short video tour of his under-construction Chillicothe shop space.

Hear him in his own words in our interview video, below.
