According to the initial report from Circleville, the incident unfolded after a caller reported an active theft in progress, identifying the suspect as a male previously involved in a similar theft of three window air conditioners earlier in the week. Officers were already familiar with the case due to a prior incident.
Officers were en route to the scene when one reported spotting a silver Pontiac G6, suspected to be linked to the theft, heading towards 729 S Court Street. One Officer subsequently observed the vehicle pulling into the rear of the specified address with two males inside.
Upon Officer’s arrival at the scene, he witnessed one male hastily exiting the vehicle, dressed in a black t-shirt and cargo pants. Concurrently, Another Officer provided a clothing description matching the individual in question. Officers swiftly identified the male as Jesse Campfield.
Meanwhile, the second male, identified as Tyler Greeno, was directed by officers to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. Officers questioned both individuals about their whereabouts, with Jesse Campfield claiming they were coming from apartments to the north, despite the Officer observing them traveling northbound from S Court.
During this time, the Officer discovered a brand new air conditioning unit in its original packaging abandoned near the trees. The officer confirmed via radio that the discovered item matched the description of the stolen property.
Following these developments, Jesse Campfield was placed under arrest, his wrists restrained, and subjected to a pat-down search. Subsequently, Tyler Greeno consented to a search of the vehicle to ensure no other stolen items were present.
Jesse Campfield was then transported without incident to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office. Charges related to the theft are pending further investigation and formal processing.
