Suspect on the Loose After Pursuit in New Holland, Ohio

A high-speed pursuit in New Holland, Ohio, ended with a suspect on the run and a police cruiser damaged. On August 6, 2024, the New Holland Police Department assisted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 13000 block of Judas Road.

When officers approached the suspect, a brief chase ensued, during which the suspect’s vehicle struck a New Holland Police cruiser. The suspect’s vehicle became stuck in a field, and he fled on foot.

The suspect, identified as Mitchell L. Cordell, 32, is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 165 pounds, with black hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, camouflage shorts, and no shoes.

Residents in the area are advised to lock their doors and report any sightings of Cordell to law enforcement immediately. One police unit was treated for heat-related issues, but no serious injuries were reported.
