PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – This weekend, two exciting community events are set to bring people together for fun and charitable causes, rain or shine.
Take Back the Strip Returns for Its 6th Year
On Saturday, car enthusiasts will once again “Take Back the Strip,” a nostalgic event that brings the community together while raising funds for charity. This year, donations will be collected for Three Pits and a Lady, a local animal rescue. Organizers will be stationed at 905 South Court Street throughout the day, welcoming contributions from supporters.
Despite a grim weather forecast, event organizers remain hopeful that the community will show up to keep the tradition alive. The event, which began six years ago, is inspired by the classic pastime of “cruising the strip” and has since evolved into a rolling car show that supports local nonprofits and businesses. Spectators often line the streets to watch the procession of classic and custom cars roll by.
Community Bike Ride Kicks Off Sunday
On Sunday, Pickaway MTB, a local mountain biking Facebook group, is launching a community bike ride aimed at encouraging families to get outside and enjoy a safe, fun cycling experience.
The ride begins at 3 p.m. at the Pickaway County YMCA, with cyclists rolling out along the Pickaway Trail bike path to Ohio Christian University (OCU) and back—a three-mile, family-friendly trip. Organizers hope to expand the ride in the future as interest grows.
Whether you’re revving your engine or pedaling down the trail, this weekend offers something for everyone to enjoy while supporting local causes.
