PICKAWAY – The Teays Valley Educational Foundation awarded Ashville Elementary School 1st grade teacher Megan Hamilton a $2,000 grant to create a garden outside of the school. This will provide students hands-on learning opportunities, as well as a project to work on during recess. Once the vegetables are ready, they will be shared with the students during lunch periods too.
“A huge thank you to the TVEF for funding this PBL (project based learning) opportunity, which is very valuable to students as it covers a multitude of academic standards with one project and provides real world and career connections for the entire school,” Hamilton said.
