COLUMBUS, Ohio (June 26, 2024) – Rumpke Waste & Recycling has awarded its 2024 scholarship for Pickaway County to McKenna Kautz, a recent graduate of Teays Valley High School. The $1,000 scholarship supports a Pickaway County graduate pursuing a two or four-year degree at an accredited institution, including vocational and trade schools.
The selection criteria for the scholarship include academic commitment, environmental stewardship, and a desire to serve the community. McKenna Kautz, who plans to attend the University of Cincinnati, will major in Communication Design with a minor in Marketing. Her career goal is to become a communication and marketing designer, supporting small businesses, non-profit organizations, and larger corporations that positively impact society.
In her application essay, McKenna shared insights from her family’s local insurance business, stating, “I became intrigued with the customer. I grew to understand the value behind the connections and personal relationships our family formed with clients.” Her dedication to helping organizations with a positive mission is reflected in her volunteer work with The Columbus Zoo, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Make A Day Organization.
“We’re pleased to award this scholarship to McKenna, who has an impressive entrepreneurial spirit and an admirable goal to contribute her skills to good causes,” said Rumpke Regional Vice President Mark O’Brien.
Congratulations to McKenna Kautz on this well-deserved scholarship. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
