Chillicothe, Ohio – April 7, 2025

One of Ross County’s biggest weekends of the year is just around the corner as The Buck Fifty returns Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. While it might not be Christmas or the county fair, the excitement is just as real with 121 relay teams, 1,300 runners, and 500 volunteers preparing to take on the 150-mile overnight challenge.

The race kicks off from Ohio University Chillicothe on Friday starting at 1:00 p.m., with new teams taking off every 30 minutes until the final wave departs at 8:00 p.m. Teams will begin returning to the finish line starting around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, with the final finishers expected by 6:30 p.m. To keep spirits high, food trucks and karaoke will be on-site throughout the event.

Organizers are asking the community for their support and cooperation:

  • Expect runners on the roads throughout April 11–12 — give them space, cheer them on, and drive cautiously.
  • Residents along the course are encouraged to secure pets and avoid being alarmed by runners passing through during overnight hours.
