The first of Several Mega Load Starts Moving This Week in Southern Ohio

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (March 4, 2024) – Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer are advising residents of upcoming traffic disruptions due to the movement of “Super and Mega Loads” through the area.

First Load Departs Wednesday, March 6th:

  • Departure time: Approximately 8:00 AM (subject to change)
  • Route:
    • Eastbound on U.S. 52 from Manchester to West Portsmouth
    • Westbound U.S. 52 lanes (temporary) just before the junction of State Route 239 & U.S. 52
    • North on the State Route 239 southbound ramp towards State Route 73/State Route 852

Following Days:

  • Updates on subsequent days’ routes will be provided as available.

Motorists Advised:

  • Expect delays and possible congestion on the designated routes.
  • Adjust travel times and routes as needed to avoid impacted areas.

Law enforcement will be present to ensure safe passage of the loads and manage traffic flow.
