Chillicothe, OH — A four-vehicle collision on US Route 35 near milepost 34 in Jefferson Township, Ross County, resulted in multiple injuries on August 14, 2024. The crash occurred at 2:02 PM and is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to the Patrol, a 2019 Kenworth 310 driven by Abdullahi Aden, 36, from Faribault, Minnesota, experienced a blowout of the driver-side front tire. The tire failure caused the truck to veer off the left side of the roadway into the westbound lanes, where it collided with a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Michael Toth, 53, of Oak Hill, Ohio.

The impact caused the semi to overturn and be struck by a 2019 Lincoln MKC driven by Michael Wahl, 84, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania. The semi then hit a 2017 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kellie Thomason-Stacy, 44, of Jackson, Ohio.

Aden was initially taken to Adena Regional Medical Center by Jefferson Township EMS and later airlifted by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center. His injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. A passenger from the Dodge Grand Caravan was also airlifted to Children’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Other occupants were transported to Adena Medical Center for minor injuries.

Assisting at the scene were Jefferson Township Fire and EMS, Liberty Township Fire and EMS, Harrison Township Fire and EMS, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, MedFlight, The Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Ross County Emergency Management Agency.
