CHILLICOTHE, OH — The legendary Tour of the Scioto River Valley (TOSRV) returns May 16–18, 2025, for its 64th anniversary—revamped and ready to ride with fresh routes, festival vibes, and options for cyclists of all levels.

The iconic event, known as one of the nation’s oldest and most cherished cycling traditions, will now be based out of Yoctangee Park in Chillicothe. The updated format will feature two days of customizable loop rides and a festive weekend experience designed to attract everyone from casual riders to seasoned cyclists looking to jumpstart their spring training.

A Classic Ride, Reinvented

While honoring its legacy, this year’s TOSRV will also embrace new terrain. Riders can still enjoy traditional segments like Three Locks Road and State Route 104, but 2025’s version includes multiple distance and difficulty options—ranging from 50 to 100 miles each day.

Saturday Rides (South Route toward Waverly):

  • 50 miles (1,700 ft): Classic out-and-back via Three Locks Road
  • 68 miles (2,700 ft): Return route through Tar Hollow
  • 93 miles (4,100 ft): Southern loop + Tar Hollow
  • 100 miles (4,300 ft): Full challenge loop

Sunday Rides (North Route toward Circleville):

  • 50 miles (1,500 ft): Direct route on SR 104
  • 65 miles (2,000 ft): Longer return via backroads
  • 75 miles (2,300 ft): Extra scenic loop
  • 100 miles (2,500 ft): Add Paint Creek Trail

A bonus “build-your-own” route allows riders to explore the Paint Creek Trail, a hidden 34-mile gem connecting Chillicothe to Washington Court House. It’s perfect for flat, scenic cruising and shorter ride goals.

A Spring Tradition Since 1962

Founded as a father-son ride in 1962, TOSRV quickly grew into the largest cycling event in the country, playing a key role in sparking the U.S. bicycle touring movement. Year after year, it draws thousands to southern Ohio and continues to earn recognition in Bicycling Magazine’s Bucket Ride List.

More Than a Ride—It’s a Celebration

This year’s new festival-style setup means more than miles on the road—expect community, camaraderie, and post-ride relaxation at Yoctangee Park. With vendors, local food, music, and rider support, it’s shaping up to be the ultimate cycling weekend getaway.

Whether you’re a TOSRV veteran or new to the tradition, this spring’s event offers the perfect blend of nostalgia and new adventure.
