JACKSON, Ohio – A routine traffic stop in Scioto County led to a significant drug bust on Wednesday, as Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized over $146,000 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl and arrested a Detroit man on felony charges.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on November 27 when troopers stopped a rented 2023 GMC Yukon with Washington state license plates on State Route 823 for a moving violation. During the stop, troopers observed what appeared to be cocaine residue on the passenger seat.
After receiving consent to search the vehicle, troopers uncovered approximately three pounds of crystal methamphetamine and 70 grams of fentanyl. The drugs have an estimated street value of $146,662.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Trevon K. Parker of Detroit, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Scioto County Jail. He faces a first-degree felony charge of possession of drugs, which carries a potential sentence of up to 11 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000 if convicted.
