The Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee has unveiled its entertainment lineup for the highly anticipated 60th Presidential Inauguration Weekend, celebrating the swearing-in of President-elect Donald Trump. The event promises to be a star-studded occasion with a mix of well-known musicians and some new faces, likely to please Trump supporters while sparking boycotts from some Democratic circles.
Headlining the performances at the swearing-in ceremony will be eight-time Grammy Award-winning country music star Carrie Underwood, who will sing “America the Beautiful.” Underwood, who has remained relatively quiet about her political views, said in a statement that she was “honored” to perform and was “humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity.”
Other high-profile performers for inauguration weekend include The Village People, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Kid Rock. The musical selections aim to reflect the themes of patriotism, unity, and the celebration of Trump’s victory.
The Village People, known for their iconic anthem “YMCA,” will perform at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally and the Liberty Ball. Despite their association with pro-LGBTQ sentiments, the group has clarified that their hit song is not intended to be a “gay anthem,” although the song has been embraced by the LGBTQ community over the years.
Jason Aldean, who faced backlash last year over his song “Try That in a Small Town,” which responds to anti-patriotic acts, will also perform at the Liberty Ball. Aldean has been a vocal supporter of Trump, dedicating his song to the president after an assassination attempt on Trump.
Country music’s Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus, who are both known Trump supporters, will also make appearances at the rallies, with Cyrus performing at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally. Cyrus’ daughter, Miley, has been an outspoken critic of Trump, creating a contrast within the family.
Rascal Flatts, with lead vocalist Gary LeVox, will take the stage at the Commander-in-Chief Ball. This marks the second time LeVox has performed at a Trump inauguration, solidifying the band’s ongoing support for the President.
Lee Greenwood, famed for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the U.S.A.,” will perform at both the swearing-in ceremony and the Victory Rally. His song has been a fixture at Republican events for decades.
Additional performers include “America’s Tenor” Christopher Macchio, who will sing the National Anthem with the U.S. Marine Corps Band, and country singer Parker McCollum, who will perform at the Commander-in-Chief Ball. Gavin DeGraw, known for his hit song “I Don’t Want to Be,” will perform at The Starlight Ball, and Liberty University’s Praise Choir will perform at the Victory Rally.
A “surprise musical guest” is also slated to perform at The Liberty Ball, promising an additional layer of excitement to the weekend’s festivities.
The event will take place against the backdrop of a contentious political landscape, with the inauguration expected to serve as a symbol of both celebration and division as the nation transitions into a new chapter.
