Two-Time League Champions Chillicothe Paints Opens 31st Season Tonight

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The excitement is palpable as the Chillicothe Paints, two-time champions of the Prospect League, are geared up for their 31st season, kicking off with an away game against Lafayette on Tuesday, May 28.

Fans can mark their calendars for the home opener at VA Memorial Stadium on Thursday, May 30, where the Paints will face off against the Johnstown Mill Rats at 7:05 p.m. The festivities include Thirsty Thursday with $2 draft beer, followed by a spectacular postgame fireworks show to commemorate the start of the new season.

This season promises an action-packed schedule with a total of 56 regular-season games and four exhibitions. Of these, 30 thrilling matchups will take place on home turf, while the remaining 30 will see the Paints hitting the road. Excitingly, the Paints will compete against 10 of the league’s 18 teams, including newcomers like the Full Count Rhythm and Dubois County Bombers. Notably, the Paints will venture to Clinton, Iowa, for the first time to face off against the Clinton LumberKings at NelsonCorp Field. Other matchups include Lafayette Aviators, Johnstown Mill Rats, Champion City Kings, REX Baseball, Thrillville Thrillbillies, Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp, and Normal CornBelters.

The 2024 Prospect League lineup boasts 18 formidable teams hailing from seven states. Teams are organized into two conferences, each with two divisions, providing an electrifying season for baseball enthusiasts across the nation.
