Ashville, Ohio — An armored truck crash on Ashville Pike in Ashville yesterday at approximately 10 a.m. resulted in two injuries, including one serious injury. The GardaWorld armored truck was traveling southbound on Ashville Pike when the driver overcorrected near the intersection of Miller Road and Ashville Pike, according to a report from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle veered off the road, damaging properties at 3535 Miller Road and 11560 Ashville Pike, narrowly missing a home. Emergency responders initially faced challenges accessing the vehicle due to its armored nature and locked doors. The driver was eventually extricated using mechanical means.

Micheal Flack, 44, of Columbus, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Grant Medical Center. The passenger, who suffered minor injuries, was treated at the scene. The driver was cited for failing to follow rules for driving in a marked lane. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The vehicle was considered totalled.

The crash site was closed for about an hour to allow for the tow truck and emergency squad to clear the area.
