Chillicothe – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred on Pleasant Valley Road approximately one tenth of a mile northwest of SR 104.
On August 29, 2022, at approximately 6:20 P.M. a 2005 Cadillac CTS, driven by Jesse Garcilaso, 35, of Chillicothe, was traveling southeast on Pleasant Valley Road when he traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck two parked cars, struck a porch of a house, and then struck a fence. The porch was occupied by the resident, Cody Jordan, 27, of Chillicothe, Ohio.
Mr. Jordan was transported by EMS to Adena Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Garcilaso was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor involving the crash.
Union Township Fire/EMS, Scioto Township Fire/EMS and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reminds motorists to always wear their seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
