FAYETTE – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle injury traffic crash that occurred Friday morning on in the 7000 block of S.R. #38NE in Paint Twp., Fayette County, Ohio. The crash was reported to the Sheriff’s Communications Center at 7:20 a.m.
According to Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Anthony E. Wood, Age 58 of Washington Court House was traveling north on S.R. #38NE and struck the trailer area of a 2014 Freightliner semi tractor-trailer operated by Kevin R. Wallace, Age 44 of Springfield, Ohio. The semi tractor-trailer was backing into the driveway of a residence in the 7000 block of S.R. #38NE to make a delivery when the crash occurred.
Mr. Wood was entrapped in his vehicle and was extricated by members of the Bloomingburg Paint-Marion Twp. Fire Department, Jefferson Twp. Fire Department, and the Sheriff’s Rescue Unit. Mr. Wood was airlifted from the scene by Med-Flight to a Columbus Trauma Center for medical treatment. Mr. Wallace reported no injuries in the crash. Mr. Wood’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time as deputies continue their investigation of the traffic crash.
