CIRCLEVILLE – Around 9:05 pm a call to 911 on a smell of smoke alerted police and fire to the apartment residence behind 205 Main Street.
According to scanner a man with a bag over his head on fire was reported.

Police and fire quickly responded and shut down the area of West Main and South Scioto Street. Fire requested a medical helicopter to meet at Berger hospital. The man was removed from the building and transported by Circleville Fire to Berger where police say he was alive but in critical condition. We learned later that he as been transported by medical helicopter to Columbus Hospitals.
Police taped off the area and are awaiting arson and police investigators to determine the cause of the fire and if it was self inflicted or he was a victim.
