CINCINNATI – A viral post from Cincinnati Zoo of their famous Fiona hippo is mesmerizing watchers as the hippo thought to be slow and not athletic is not the case.
Watching the video you can see Fiona dive into one side of the pool from on top of some rocks then blast herself back to the top and out of the water like a dolphin. She does this several times before you realize, I’m watching a hippo here?
Hippos love the water and spend most of the day submerged in the water, and can hold their breaths up to five minutes underwater. Hippos are actually pretty fast at 19 mph on land.
