OHIO – Voters have objected to issue one in Ohio. The proposed constitutional amendment that reduced all drug possession to a misdemeanors was rejected.
Many Law enforcement and Drug Councilors in Pickaway came forward against the bill saying the bill is just not defined enough to become a amendment.
Supporters of the bill said that issue one would have saved Ohioans millions of dollars in prison funding, but it would have been spend on programs for addiction.
Opponents laughed at making heavy drugs such as fentanyl possession a misdemeanor drug.
According to AP Issue 1 has failed and asks the question whats next for reducing prison population?
