William Smith Bullock III, age 78, passed away on January 13, 2018. Bill was born on July 22, 1939 to William and Virginia (Young) Bullock in Wilmington, Delaware. Bill was the oldest of seven children. He attended Christ Our King grade school through sixth grade and then moved to St. Anne’s parish where he completed elementary school. He attended Salesianum Catholic High School, graduating in 1957 as the first senior class of the new school on Broom Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Bill went on to the University of Delaware and graduated with a degree in Business with a focus on Marketing. Bill was employed by the E.I. du Pont de Nemours Company for 47 years. His career started in the company’s Central Research Lab. He then moved to the Plastics Department and in 1978 the Film Department which required relocation to Circleville, Ohio. He retired in 1997 and enjoyed 20+ years of gardening, golfing, fishing and wood working. He was quite a good carpenter. He often completed large projects as Christmas gifts which are visible in the homes of his family. He also loved to sing and dance and music was a constant presence at home. Bill was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Benevolent Order of Elks. Bill leaves behind his wife of 58 years Joanne (Hillis) Bullock and their 5 children, Blaine (Karen), Beth, Jeff (Angie), Tim (Audrey) and Mike (Nancy). He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, BJ (fiancée Halle), Joshua (Kiersten), Wil, Lauren (Dusty Seitz), Kristen (Nick McCain), Ian, Cole, Nathan, Lincoln, Reagan and Kaleb.
Bill leaves 5 great grandchildren, Kylie and Gage McCain, Everly and Eisley Seitz and Olivia Bullock. Funeral arrangements are in care of Wellman’s Funeral Home. Calling hours are on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Wellman’s Funeral Home on North Court Street, Circleville. Mass with Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on West Mound Street in Circleville followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery on Court Street in Circleville.
