FRANKFORT, Ohio — On July 10, 2024, Detectives, conducted an investigation on Cupps Bridge Road, Frankfort, Ohio, in relation to a breaking and entering case originating from Waverly, Ohio.
The Case involved suspect Daniel “Danny” Clark based on surveillance footage provided by a victium. Seeking to follow up on the lead, the Detective noted upon arrival that the residence’s front door did not appear to be the primary access point, with the front porch being screened in and lacking visible entryways.
Following a gravel driveway to the rear of the residence, the Detective observed a stone path leading to the back porch, which seemed to be the main entrance. During his approach, he noticed a significant item: a large black cast iron bell situated prominently in the backyard. This discovery triggered a recollection of a similar bell reported stolen from a church on Camelin Hill Road several months prior.
Detective Davidson proceeded to interview the resident at the address. The resident mentioned uncertainty regarding Danny’s whereabouts but confirmed he was not present. Regarding the bell, She stated she was unaware of its origin, noting it had appeared in the yard approximately one to two months earlier. She denied knowledge of how the bell ended up there and affirmed that her youngest son, visits occasionally but does not reside at the property.
Further inquiry with Brian Clark via telephone yielded no indication that he had brought the bell to the residence. The bell, weighing between 400 to 600 pounds and marked with “York” and “30,” was identified as having been originally housed at Wipert Memorial Church on Camelin Hill Road.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the bell’s appearance and its potential connection to the reported theft, Detective Davidson concluded the visit with plans to pursue a warrant for the arrest of anyone found to be in possession of stolen property.
The bell was subsequently returned to Wipert Memorial Church under the supervision of Sergeant from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, who had originally taken the theft report on April 12, 2024
